Default Laughlin Adventure Rally 2006

Our 2006 GPS Adventure Rally Tour, presented by Laughlin Ranch, headquartered at Harrah’s in Laughlin, is a unique three-day weekend experience. It includes hands-on GPS training and group session Friday, the GPS-guided driving adventure on Saturday, and Sunday’s Awards Breakfast. It’s also part of Laughlin’s newest celebration, the Laughlin International Rally & Motorsports Festival. We provide the course guide, questions to answer, games to play, treasures to seek and prizes to win. Adventure Rally participants range from 8 months to 80, and everyone has a great time. Best of all you see the most beautiful countryside …including the western Grand Canyon.
Until you’ve done it, it’s hard to imagine the spectacular sights and sense of adventure you’ll experience traveling the desert and mountain back roads of the Old West. Our teams have witnessed western gunfights, trekked underground gold mine tunnels, discovered a flying saucer, explored ghost towns and even had a chance to sample “donkey ears”.
One challenge, of course, is how well your Adventure Rally team members will answer route questions, locate the treasures, figure out the mystery question, find a few geo-caches, and arrive back at Harrah’s in time to have your points scored for the prizes. The prizes range from the silly to the sublime, but what you end up with is up to you …and Lady Luck!
Saturday’s lunch is a treat, whether in a secluded park or a gourmet western saloon. Team members use this opportunity to swap stories and share a laugh with other Adventure Rally participants.
Adventure Rally teams often drive SUV-type vehicles with higher ground clearance, though the AWD and 4WD Subaru, Jeep and Suzuki are always part of the Adventure Rally action. This is a driving tour, not a high-speed challenge, and it takes teams over winding unpaved back roads within southern Nevada and northwestern Arizona.
The 2006 event promises to bigger and better than ever. We have a new host property, the lovely Harrah’s Laughlin Casino, a new event date, and a few schedule changes, but the excitement and fun are still part of the grand Adventure this event is so famous for.
With the Veterans’ Day weekend, we expanded the Friday travel practice drive, allowing you an opportunity to experience even more of the diverse natural beauty within in the surrounding countryside. For the geo-cache enthusiasts, be sure to have your site lists ready. There will be a Friday “short course” practice option for those arriving later.
A second change is the Sunday morning Awards Buffet Breakfast. Hosted again this year at the Laughlin Bay Marina, it offers a unique time for all Adventure Rally teams to share experiences, photos and tell the tall tales of Adventure... after a good nights sleep!
Finally, those who select the Premium package by October 25 receive their new GPS prior to the event... increasing your chances of winning that BIG First Place Prize at the Sunday Awards.
Whether new or experienced, save the energy for the challenging Saturday Adventure Rally itself, with an early morning ceremonial start for every team.
Ready, set, go!
