NELRC - Sand and Snow 1/14/12 - 1/15/12 (Pine Barrnes, NJ)
This will be our first winter run into the Pines. This trip and it's difficulty is solely determined by the weather leading up to the trip. Water crossings will become iced over possibly frozen solid dependent on depth. We are staying in a group of Lean To's located in Bass River state park. They say they fit 6 people to a lean to but i wouldn't put more than 3 or 4 in each one. It's $30 a for the night so if you put 3 people in $10 each.
We are going to bring plenty of firewood as each lean to is equipped with a stove to make sure we have heat all night. A $10 donation for firewood or please bring your own firewood sourced locally. Check in time is at 3pm for the lean to.
We will wheel from 9am until 3pm then go check into the campsite and grab dinner, after dinner around 7 we will head back into the pines for a late run for those who are interested in wheeling in the dark. We will check out of the lean to's in the morning and go wheeling again. Check out is at noon.
We will wheel again Sunday morning after breakfast and wheel until the early afternoon.
The dinner spot is still TBD.
