Need some ideas, because I'm planning for next week that maybe I could spend atleast a day off roving. I'm from north cal by the way.

What part of nor Cal are you from? I am in the bay area. I posted a little while back looking for like minded people here but got ZERO response. I know I see lots of land rovers on the interstate every morning going to work, yet not a single response about getting together for a fun weekend.

I ususaly go to Hollister, but I recently bought a book titled "Guide to Northern California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" by Charles A. Wells. It has directions, maps of the trails, trail ratings and recomended spots to visit in the upper 3/4 of the state. I have not been out yet since I bought it but I'm looking forward to putting it to the trail test.

In the mean time, let me know if you need any specific info. If you let me know about your trail experience and what vehicle you're off roaving with and perhaps what mods if any you have done to it, I may be able to make somerelevant suggestions. Let me know if I can help.

Also, forgot to tell you, there's a norcal Rover club I'm looking into as we speak. I ran into a few of their members at the last LR wheels event we had from Freamont Land Rover at Bodega Bay last month. They seemed friendly enough. It is called NCLR and looking at their web page, they seem to stay very involved with outings and even participate on some of the big events during the year. I am getting ready to put it an application in the very near future.
