Group trip to the Tahuya ORV Park in Tahuya, Washington on November 19, 2011.
All are welcome, bring your kids, dogs, wives, girlfriends, etc,...You are responsible for your own rig, and those riding along. Make sure you have decent recovery points, decent tires, snacks, gas, blah, blah, blah. There are plenty of Green Dot trails which are passable (but more challenging) with a stock rig. All more difficult areas have bypasses.
Expect this to be a WET trip as it will be November in Washington state.
Meeting place and time will be discussed, but most likely it will be the Safeway/Starbucks parking lot in Belfair.
THE DISCOVERY PASS IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE INTO THE ORV. YOU CAN PICK THESE UP ANYWHERE HUNTIN/FISHING LICENSES ARE SOLD!
Look forward to seeing anyone and everyone out there! Here's some of what you can expect...

what do you think my chances of survival are? new tires aren't happening until tax return time.

You'll be fine.
I've actually never been out there, but from what I hear from very reliable sources, stock Disco's have NO issue making it through the main trails, and just in case, there are plenty of bypasses for the more difficult areas so that you can avoid obstacles. I've also heard that it's WAY more fun in a stock rig because it's more challenging.
You should come out, you could really put your truck to the test, and get a great idea of how capable stock Disco's are.
So far, the RSVP's are : 4 Discovery's, 1 Land Cruiser FZJ80, 1 Nissan Frontier, 1 Jeep Rubicon, 1 Ford Explorer

well, i was supposed to be in CA on that day, but i'm deeply considering pushing the trip back a week for this. it would be nice to meet some locals and start doing this regularly.
i'll grab a few tow ropes to bring along.

Nice. I'm with you 100% on meeting more people around the area with similar vehicle interests.
Northwest Overland Society is the group I've organized this with, but this will be my first time meeting all but one of the guys. From what I've gathered from the forum, they are (or seem to be) a much more civilized group than what most people think of when they hear about a "4x4" club.
There is a big emphasis on keeping vehicles lightly-moderately modified (i.e. - no rock buggies allowed) and such.
