Default Towing tips 2011 National Rally

Hello,
Could anyone contribute advice, tips, do's, don'ts regarding towing a SWB Series IIA from Indiana to Colorado SAFELY with a 2005 Jeep Liberty?

I have only towed a fishing boat w/ the Liberty and it did just fine, but I'm a bit concerned about pulling the heavier Series, not to mention, the trailer I am considering borrowing has questionable brakes.

I would really enjoy going to the National Rally again, but want to take my Rover & not jack-knife going down a mountain pass on I-70.

Should I do it, find a better trailer, borrow a heftier tow vehicle...what do you all suggest.
Thanks in advance!

you could rent a truck or van from a rental car company. but i think the liberty will be fine. you do after all have a SWB and not LWB. what is the towing capacity of the liberty?

im thinking of driving my D2 out there from NY, so maybe ill see you there!

5,000 lb is the towing capacity....I'm also a bit concerned about the brakes on this buddy's trailer I am borrowing. I think I'll just rent the trailer from U-Haul & play it safe. Thanks for the advice!
