Default Trip Report: Utah and Arizona April 1-8, 2011

Explored back roads, 4 wheeled, hiked, visited ruins in S. Utah and N. Arizona during April 1-8, 2011. Two days were spent south of St. George, UT in the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument in Arizona exploring scenic overlooks including Snap Point and the Whitmore Wash areas. Hiked down to the Colorado River. Spent 4 days exploring in the Sedona, AZ area with 2 Jeeper couples from Montrose, CO where we all live. Ran numerous 4w trails in all directions from the Sedona area. Incredibly scenic area. Great weather until heading home on April 8 when we ran into snow in Flagstaff and high winds/dust in N. Arizona and S. Utah on the way back to Montrose, CO. Living exploring in the Four Corners area is incredible. Here's a few pictures.

Default Soldier Pass Trail

Soldier Pass Trail which starts in Sedona itself. Also ran a trail up House Mountain which is an old volcano SE of Sedona but ran out of picture room on my camera. The next day came home through serious dust/wind thru Navajo Reservation, Monument Valley, Comb Ridge area where we visited the Mexican Hat, River House Ruins, and San Juan Hill near Bluff, Utah. Had no picture room however.

Very awesome man, thanks for sharing the pics.

My wife and I were really hoping to take a road trip to that area this summer, but damn gas prices have murdered that plan:/ But that's okay, I'll live vicariously through your pictures

seriously thanks for the pics. I am in Alaska and the freakin snow and cold is driving me crazy! Looking at those pics of the sun and desert take me away from this cold place even if its for just a minute at work. Cool snake, I used to mess with rattlers in Georgia, fun stuff.

The gas prices killed me on this trip. I spent gas dollars I don't want to total up and could not afford. Why do our beloved Rovers have to burn premium and so much of it!!! It was a fun trip though.

Being from Phoenix we think just the opposite and sit and daydream about pics we see of the snow and cold. me and the wife actually contemplated about moving to Alaska. But Sedona is a beautiful area and the family loves to hit the trails up there.
