DII Harman Kardon sub impedance?
Both of my stock rear gate mounted speakers are blown, the 6.5" variety that come with the Harman Kardon premium sound on the 1999 Discovery II. Thus, I can't measure their impedance. I've heard they're rated 30 watts (RMS?) but need to know their impedance to find an appropriate replacement that won't overload the factory HK amp. They are marked "6RG 394" on the back.

4 ohm connected in series would be 8 ohms - which makes sense.
In parallel, that would be a 2 ohm load on the amp...not sure they would have a 2-ohm amp in the door...maybe, though. I'll see if I can pull one and measure it..I'm kinda curious myself - I want to replace them.
You should still be able to measure it, though, even if the surround is rotted - as long as the voice coil is still in good shape, it should measure a resistance, I would think...

They are 4-ohm, and I believe they are wired together. The factory system, at least in my 04 with the premium sound, supposedly has 11 speakers according to the Crutchfield wiring description. That means that the 2 subs are wired as one, probably in parallel creating a 2-ohm load.
