Clancy '97 D1
Hello all,
So a quick intro here. I have been building Land Cruisers and armor for a few years and decided to get my feet wet with a D1 to start.
Been welding and fabricating for a majority of my life. I like building one-off custom items more than anything.
Plans for Clancy are lift from TerraFirma, custom armor (bumpers, sliders, rack and misc other items) storage drawers, custom rear storage inner swing gate panel.
I've been talking with @ArmyRover about a few pieces and finally got ahead enough to play with a "BAK-PAK-RAK" measures 31.5" x 54". ArmyRover wanted a multi-unit rack to transfer between his D2 and Defender 110. I mocked up two platforms this afternoon. One with slotted plates and pedestal mounts (Bill's rack) and another that will utilize down legs and bolt onto the gutter. I hope to have Bill's rack finished tomorrow and shipped out to him for Rovers on the Rocks. I tried to wiggle free and make this run, but just too busy to make it happen. Need to get out and meet a few of you and introduce myself.
I have some free time and hope to get the rack and front bumper completely mocked up by the end of next week. I'm more of an overland expo guy and build my products around that scope. However, My company name is Trail-Tailor....I named it that for one simple reason... custom armor and design to meet my customers desires. It has been a blast for the last couple of years with the Land Cruiser world and now opening up into the Rover world. I do have and will have standard items for the Land Rovers coming soon, but don't hesitate to request anything out of the norm or what you may prefer or like. I'm always open to most anything within reason.
More about me and my products will follow in the next few days and weeks.
Hope you enjoy the show and now a few pics..
Jason

Jason, it looks great I can't wait to get it on the Disco.
It's great that I will be able to swap it back and forth. Family trips on the Disco for my wife's luggage and extra gear space (wife's luggage) when out camping in the 110..
My wife brings a lot of stuff....
Thanks for working with me to dual purpose the rack!

Done with the two Bak-Pak-Raks. Both will be headed to @ArmyRover. One for his rig and the other for "Show 'N' Tell"
These are prototypes and I have a couple of items in template form to go to my laser cutter.
I will offer the leg type (not Bill's) in a DIY kit as well. So, any one with some fab skills can save some money on both the RAK and shipping to boot.
Thanks,
Jason
