Just wondering what a fair price for a 89 defender xmod with soft top rear seats newer paint good looking/sounding 2.5 diesel. the usual leaks n the diff and what not with 120,000 kms??
thks
It would be hard to value, because I'm assuming it is imported, so there are probably just a few. I wish we could import stuff after 15 years like up there... we have to wait 25.
I'd probably see what they sell for in england, add a couple grand for shipping, and another grand for the effort and time involved to ship it, and then add for any upgrades like paint, chassis, and interior. I'm by no means speaking from experience.... but I wish I were.
Which diesel is it? 2.5NA, 2.5Turbo, or one of the TDI?

It is a 2.5 NA. I would like a ball park figure you can view the truck in a earlier post I had made
I cannot give you an actual value, just because grey market cars are pretty rare. I can say a true NAS 1993 Defender 110 is probably over $20,000 (and no diesel.)
If it were my money, and if I had it to spare, I'd pay up to $10,000 just cause they are so cool. That's assuming that the chassis and bulkhead aren't rusted.
