Default 95 D90 with random engine kill

Looking for any common knowledge / known problems on early D90's or Disco S1's... reasons for engine to quite at randome times (or not start).

Might be off road or on road, hot or cold. Rough or smoot ride. Power gone and Tack goes dead.

Vehicle has remote amplifier. New coil. Can't find loose wire near coil/amplifier. Don't know if it is ignition or fuel starved. But when it goes dead tack doesn't move when cranking and only a little fuel smell from tailpipe.

Oh and does anybody know the engine control sequence. The ECU seems ot have some (2) remote relays. One controls the fuel pump and shuts it off if the engine doesn't start. I don't know what the other does.

Digger,
73 SIII-88, 95 D90

one is injectors and one is fuel pump. its always a good idea to replace them in pairs.

seen them go at times one at time and sometimes together.
