Default Def110 NAS - Fuel Pump 'issue' ?

1993 Land Rover Defender 110 NAS

Turns over and will catch iginition only intermittently and then will stall... seems like fuel starvation.

I can no longer hear the fuel pump cycle on/off with the turn of the key as before.

Question: Although i suspect the fuel pump, is there something else that i should consider first or a way to diagnose/confirm the fuel pump suspicion without having to drop the tank and remove the pump?

Finally, any experience with the Proline or Hella fuel pumps vs. the OEM?

Thank you one and all. ~rich
