Default Taking off hardtop for softop

my 1997 defender has a hardtop and a soft top, just bought the defender. i cannot figure out how to remove the hardtop - does it come off in pieces and the dealership where bought it is closed. appreciate any help

rave has directions, but it comes out with alot of snaps and such. When installing the soft top get a big work light or leave the soft top out in the hot sun for a day. You need to get it soft and pliable. you can use the work light inside the veicle by putting the work light on the soft top. You need to stretch it out to get it to snap.
