Default value of '83 Defender 110

I recently purchased a 1983 RHD diesel Defender 110. There is alot of corrosion and it needs a little work. I was wonder what a fully restored '83 Defender 110 goes for here in the states. I've done alot of internet research and haven't seen an '83 for sale yet. I'm just trying to figure out how much money I want to dump into this thing

It is worth all you ask for it, as you mentioned, there aren't many out there. If you really go thru it, it will dam near be a one of a kind and as they used to say in the used car business," There is an ASS for every seat"
Someone will pay dearly for that truck, but of course, why sell it when you can enjoy it?

Thanks Mike! I don't plan on ever selling it. It's just comforting to know that if I dump alot of money in this Rover (which I plan on doing), that it will worth the money I put into it. Who knows, I may be forced to sell it one day down the road. Hopefully that day doesn't come.

It's not worth anything until next year. At that point, it will cost about $7k-$10k to get it into an engine that will pass EPA emissions tests (otherwise, it's just a lawn ornament). With lots of rot and assumedly high mileage, I would probably say that you could count on $10k-$18k roughly. You are bound to find some retard with eyes bigger than his stomach who thinks he will turn this into a poor man's NAS 1993.

EPA only regulates 10 years back. It's DOT (saftey regs) that go back 25 years. "Next year" is only one month away. It turns 25 in January

I have sent 3 1983 110's into the US this month for friends, and I have more in stock. The pictured vehicle has a rust free chassis and a full UK MOT (road worthyness certificate), It is advertised on landroverexchange for $10,000 including shipping todockside East Coast USA/Canada. I have replaced the rear xmember and also one our rigger and treated the chassis. It has a reconditioned 2.286 ltr petrol and loads of other new parts.

I priced it there so the purchaser sould have a vehicle once registered that is worth ore than he paid for it.
