1999 Discovery I SD Back windows won't go down
Hi All, I am new to the forums so please excuse any faux pas or rookie mistakes.
My back windows won't go down most of the time. Seems to be an intermittent problem. But the strange part is either they both go down or they both don't. If I press for one to go down then I automatically know that the other when pressed will go down as well.
There's no rhyme or reason as to when they will cooperate.
I had a guy to do a trace and he said I needed new motors but I that can't be so if they do go down sometimes. I had another guy say that the problem may be at the buttons themselves on the armrest panel.
Help! Thanks...

You don't need to pay $20 for a wire, but follow the instructions. It's a common problem.

I have this kit, brand new. Send me $6 for USPS Flat Rate and I'll mail it to you.
I got it with a box of a bunch of other parts and don't/won't need it.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you my PayPal info.
Most of the time the Rear Window ECU goes bad. Sometimes the board inside can be resoldered, sometimes not. I bypassed the Rear ECU in my '98 a few years ago and they work every single time now. I couldn't justify the time to "fix" the ECU and possibly have it break again when the bypass is bulletproof.
