unplugging will help your ECU not get confused. It will also remove your speedometer. If you have an android phone you can use the "GPS TEST" app, it has a simple mph gauge.
The rebuild guide is nice, I did a few of them, fisheh has my spare at the moment. I got the washers from ACE Hardware, the RTV and grease from auto parts store

I have sent one for a small fee to another forum member, seems happy so far. Just grabbed a few when I hit the junkyard for mine, rebuilt em, sold 1, and my spare is nearby but not in my possession lol. The rebuild isn't all that difficult think I got 10k miles on mine since I did it.
