AMR4956 In Detail
There are some very good tutorials on how to disable the spider..
I just received my AMR4956 in the mail..
These pics are pretty self explanatory...
This is what you need to jumper if you have an emergency situation.
John
Emergency Jumper Creation :
Take three 3" pieces of common SOLID copper wiring.. The kind you use in your house.. 18GA. Is fine...
Strip 1/2" of the insulation off each end...
Take a hammer and flatten the stripped area to create a pin that looks like what you see in this connector..
The picture makes these pins look quite thick.. They're actually only about matchbook thick.. Maybe a tiny bit thicker..
Jumper out the connector with these wires...
Good Luck

Do you have an FAQ on that jumper you made?

If you fix it correctly you don't need the spaghetti contraption. But hey, some have money to burn and no skills. Some have skills and no money and then some of us like to do it right, forget about it and enjoy a porterhouse with a beer.

I went to a NASA school on soldering when I was young..
I want to take the damn thing out... And a factory part that plugs right into the existing connector for me is the way to go..
Only cost twenty bucks.. I can live with that..
I could have gone in and manually jumpered the back side easily enough..
Or repaired the board for that matter.. Or just cut the wires off the connector and solder them together for that matter.. But I just didn't want to "rig" it up..

Then have confidence in your training......
It's extremely naive to think the spider has the only circuit board with cold solder joints. None of the others have an off the shelf work around or online write-up. What will you do then? PM me right......I'll walk you through.
This marque loves an open wallet.
For a simple example I replaced all of the burned out LED's in the stock LR badged Pioneer radio, couldn't read the stations at night nor most of the back lit buttons. Cost me pennies at Radio Shack to restore with the correct part exactly as built by Pioneer. That's what I do, restore and I do it for many others. I make pretty good money at it and I get free parts to use on my vehicle or keep as spares. Keeping the cost of ownership down, resale value even with the market. Practical dude.
By the way, that's a M109 Paladin in my shop. Just a few circuits.......
