Default Audible Speed Warning when exceeding 120 KM/h

I am a US expat currently living in the Middle East. I've got a '95 v8 3.9L Disco I. I'm no speed demon but there are a couple of highways that are nice and straight (rare!) and it's easy to pass 120 KM/h. The Disco will emit a really annoying audible alarm that is spoken about in the owners manual.

I've looked at the RAVE manual and can't find reference to it although the Owners Manual to the Disco speaks of it. Any ideas on where to locate this buzzer/alarm? I'd stick my ear down there (comes from below the dash it seems) but I have to be doing 120 KM to get the sound to register.

I promise not to exceed 120 too much :-) But 120 is a nice cruising speed on this highway and it beeps even just a hair below 120.

I'll poke around and look for a buzzer/speaker as soon as I can but thought someone may have run across this in the past.

Buy BOSE noise cancelling earphones and turn the music up.

Should be a small piezo alarm that can easily be removed. I used to remove them all the time in NZ.

Pretty sure I saw a piezo speaker in the fuze panel area underneath the dash.

That would be part of the MFU? It can beep. AND.... from the RAVE under instruments (speedometer), in the Persian Gulf States the vehicle speed output from cluster is routed to the MFU.... so maybe disconnect that yellow wire shown in the schematic. Pix of internal of MFU, black circle on right is the sounder. MFU attached to back of fuse panel. If working in there, please drop off battery lead. Space is tight.

Default Thanks for great feedback (gonna kill that beeping tomorrow)

I am going to wait for some sunlight tomorrow and see what I can find under there. I was mistaken, I didn't have the full Rave manual so I just downloaded it and will check out the docs you guys posted as well.

Thanks so much, if I find it I'll take a picture just for anyone else who may run into this issue. And you're right 75 MPH isn't all that much! :-)

Will do, thanks for the great details. I think it's probably the same, currently in Egypt right now and I think they all share a middle east spec (so the Saudi model is probably identical).

They call it "Gulf States". The MFU is the size of a cigarette pack, and on the back of the fuse block. Guess if you are going over 75 mph they want you on the carpet --- flying carpet...
