Default Camshaft position sensor location on 97 Disco I?

Seems like a silly question but I can't find it, google, searching on here, and poking around in the engine have been unsuccessful. I have some error codes and am getting misfires, and am hoping putting on a new camshaft position sensor will fix the issue but can't find it.

Any help? Do I need to take off something else to access it?

It's in the timing cover, but I doubt it's causing your misfires. Anything is possible though. What are the codes?

Isn't Timing cover is can sensor, crank sensor is back of engine drivers side on the side at the transmission, hence why it gate hot and causes issues

p0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit bank 1 or single sensor

This ones been coming up for a while and I ignored it. Stupid, I know, car ran fine and had no symptoms of anything wrong. About a month ago my throttle would be interrupted at 50+ mph then kick back in, I figured it was the vehicle speed sensor, but everything else seemed to be running fine. Then more recently it seemed to be running a little rough and gas mileage had dropped so I reread the codes and all these came up.

p0300 Misfires detected

p1193 No definition but suggested fixes all have to do with 02 sensors

p1158 No definition or suggested fixes. Mystery code.

p1314, p1316 Neither of these have definitions but the list of suggested fixes included spark plugs and associated things so I changed the plugs, and then pulled the wires one at a time while it was running. All wires had sparks just like they should.

I also replaced the vehicle speed sensor, then today I cleared the codes, and now, even though I can hear it is still misfiring, the check engine light won't come back on and there are no more codes to read.

I'm also pretty sure I have a leak in the exhaust.

Oh, and around the same time I notice the gas mileage go down, I noticed it takes longer to start. Not much longer, it went from starting in about 1 second to starting in about 2 seconds every time. Not much difference but I have noticed it, and thought it was worth sharing.

P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Signal Error Fault.

It's right above the crankshaft pulley, great spot. Check the wires from the cmp's connector on up after you change it out. Make sure the wires are free of oil/grime and cuts and bad kinks.

P0300 - Misfire On Multiple Cylinder
P1158 - Oxygen Sensor Engine Rich *Codes* B D
P1193 - Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Open Downstream
P1314 - Misfire Catalyst Damage Fault Bank B
P1316 - Misfire Excessive Emissions Fault

No worries you dont have to apologize for trying to help, thanks for the effort.

Also, isnt it a bit odd that once I cleared the codes none have come back, even though I can hear its still misfiring?

Also, if my cat converter was out could that be causing a misfire? What about the o2 sensors? They shouldn't should they?

So any ideas how I would go about finding out WHICH o2 sensor is out?

Also, any other ideas to find out what exactly is causing the misfire? Its random and not just on one cylinder.
