D2 wiper motor on a D1?

When motor was working did the blades wipe and park where they should? If not then the contacts on the rotary gear on the motors gearbox are pitted/scored/trenched. If your the DIY type drill out the rivets on gearbox cover, remove cover and take a gander at em. I repaired mine a long time ago (sanded and filled with silver solder) and it's still working perfectly. Check fuse F16 under the dash, see if it's blown before you leap. Not sure if DII's fits so I'd dig mine out and compare first before tossing cash at the problem......

I did tear it apart. It's shorting somewhere internally. The Coils super heat, and at best, on occasion, I'll get the worm gear to spin and move the wipers. That is, as long as the fuse doesn't blow before that. I would tear into the thing more and figure out where the short is, but don't know where to go from here. so as of now, I'm stumped.
