Default exhaused search function for "disco died"

As the title states. I have exhausted my search for discovery died. I was driving today and came to a stop light and my 96 d1 just sputtered and died. The fuel pump has lost power. I can hear the clicking of the relays (I have cleaned and repaired all the in cab relays) in the cab as well as the engine bay. I just replaced the pump with a new airtex pump(Very loud pump.) I have not yet tested with a multi meter, but will tonight when I get home from work. My question is, am I going about this diagnosis properly or is there a better way to expedite this process.

Drivers side rear wheel arch. There's a connector in the fuel harness. Check there for power. Be quick as you only have a few seconds after you turn the key to Position II.
