If you have a 97, like mine, the fuel pump relay is part of the multifunction relay box, just forward of the ECU enclosure on the passenger side fenderwall under the hood. It takes power from fuse 6 under the hood, sends it thru the inertia (crash) safety switch (push top to reset) on the firewall and on to the pump. It is not under the dash or kickpanel. Look at page 41 of 591 in the 97 circuits manual.

I do have a 97. W/ advanced evaporation. Does anyone know how to test the inertia switch or fuel pressure sensor?

The inertia switch is normally closed when "normal", so it is a short across it. Regular volt meter woiuld read 12 volts to reference ground on either side when pump is enabled. A clamp on amp meter will show about 5 amps current drain when pump is running.

The connector for the fuel pressure sensor, C484, is at the top of the tank under the carpet in the cargo area. Fuel pump relay is still under the hood, about same area, just not the MFR, and it is turned 90 degrees to the fender.

But is fuel pressure sensor used more as part of the evap system as opposed to engine fueling?

You seem to post a lot, do you know where the fuel relay is located on a 2003 Discovery. Having same intermittent starter issues as a lot of folks. Dash lights all come on, but nothing when I turn the ignition to start. Leaving the key on for a while, and the seat warmer on, It will start. Would just like to change the fuel relay switch and hope that works.
