How Can I reset my service engine light?
#3
My check engine is on. It turned on after I replaced the transfer case. I had to remove part of the exhaust and when everything was put back together I had an exhaust leak. Drivers side cat was torn and I replaced it. I bought a new Magnaflow universal cat. Would this cause any issues or should it work fine?
Anyway, the lights been on since the swap, and the truck is running fine. How do I reset it?

Crap, I was afraid of that. Another $130 installed. How long do you think I can run it the way it is now (one new cat, one original)? I drive once or twice a week and can afford to replace the other cat in a month. Do you think it's ok to drive it, or should I park it until I instal the new one?

Service Engine
Both lights were on and I went to my local Auto Zone and they scanned my Land Rover to give me codes. I service the engine and the check engine light turned off. However, the Service Engine light stayed on. I read the owner's manual and it says the Service Engine light comes on every 50,000 miles so that you take the Land Rover into the Dealer's for an emissions test. I do not have a local dealer in my immediate area.

Locate the box, unclip it, grab a paper clip and find the small hole in the top (mine was hidden by a Land Rover sticker). You will need to fiddle with the paper clip until you make contact with two posts inside of the box...once you do that the light will turn off.
It took me awhile to make contact with both posts, but there is a nice picture or two of what you are trying to accomplish: go to Discoweb dot org, click the "tech" link and then "reset service engine light" link.
Good luck.
