How much did you pay for your Disco?

$2,400 out the door (TT&L included). 125k ish miles on it when I bought it. Other than a saggy headliner and a few minor dings on the paint/body, it was/is in great shape. I've since replaced the transfer case, overhauled the cooling system, and done general maintenance to it. It was dealer maintained, had the service campaign plaque under the hood, and all the filters, belts, hoses, parts, etc. had the LR emblem on them.

What did you do about the rusted out floors? Any pics?
I ask because I gutted the interior of mine to reveal big holes of rust in the footwells of the front seats. Gonna take it in today for a "weld sheet metal over them" estimate, but am open to all possible solutions.

See the thread by Slanginsanjuan about the rust repairs he did.

I bought my 97 in early 2006 for 6 grand with just over 100K miles on it. Went thru brakes, fixed diff lock shifter, and replaced fuel pump and corroded fuel lines right off the bat. Shocks and springs and tires soon afterwards.
Afterwards, just plugs, wires, fluids and filters, updated d/s with a 98 used one. Removed headliner, carpets, most of the trim, original junk stereo and cd changer.

Bought my 1997 new. Dealer maintained until a couple of years ago (thanks to this site and DWeb). Other than the ignition switch and new front shocks (huge wobble after hitting any kind of bump), this thing has been great. Oddly, living in NYC, I pay more to park the thing each year ('cause I just don't want to leave her outside and alternate side of the street parking is a pain in the ***) than the vehicle is actually worth! But she is as minty as they come.

I'm competing for worst deal, or most naive Disco purchase...
Paid $3600 from a used car lot. 163,000 miles.
The Bad:
Blown head gasket
Internal engine components worn due to lack of maintenance
Far too old fluids
Coolant in power steering
Power seat switches broken
Bad battery
Sun roofs broken and leaked
Cruise control broken
Bushings and engine mounts shot
Everything covered in oil + dirt mud
Catalytic converters bad
Bad O2 sensors
Transfer case interlock solenoid broke
ABS inoperative
The Good:
No rust
Paint
Interior
I've fixed everything now, but it's been quite a ride.
Lesson learned: If you see a Disco for sale and immediately start dreaming of African expeditions, have someone slap you. Then have someone smarter than yourself, and who does not work for the dealership, find every damn thing that's wrong with it.

Eric, last I heard you were having the 1314/1316 codes, what resolved that for you?
