Hypothetically speaking, if news broke that there would be no more parts manufactured for the D1's and you had one last chance to order the essentials, which would you order?

LOL, the first response is usually the correct one. I do wonder if parts for these things will ever cease. I mean, we're not driving 57 Chevy's or MGB's. I'd like to think my Discovery is rare and truthfully is may be. I really never see them on the road anymore. Will the day come when only a small number still travel the roads and manufacturers say, "to heck with it no one buys these parts anymore?"

You can get just about anything for a MGB.

As for the Disco parts you should order head gasket sets. The rest of the bits can be cannibalized from disco on the side of the road

3D printing will eventually help to keep a lot of vehicles on the road.

In the meanwhile, Rover has attempted, under BAE, Ford and now Tata, to establish a Classic parts division. Add that to the fact that both Land Rover and Jaguar now have separate divisions that will custom build anything for the right price (ie. a 1948 SI 80" or similar) means that an awful lot of parts will still be available PLUS you have many people, such as myself, who have been making a living for years cannibalizing older models. It will be a very long time before parts availability becomes that critical.

Oh, and ExpeditionNW, contact me. I'm sure I have that flasher relay you're looking for.
