Default LOL only my luck

So we go out to do some last mintute x mass shopping and go to leave the store and put the key in the ignition and snap!!! No no no not ho ho ho. no way bro.
so i play with it for a minute and i cum to a conclusion that i need a lock- simth so i call and no one was willing to mess with it. The last number on the list, so i call expecting to hear the same thing, but this guy said "i'll come look at it." So we sit in the landi, what made this so bad was that my wife was with me and she was not happy with the car. So this guy shows up and was like "i got it." After 2 hours of sitting in subway at wal-mart, my phone rings and he says come out to your truck. So i do and he has the ignition out and he says the lock is bad, all i care about is just getting the wife home before i have to call fema for a safe please. To be so i have to use a screw driver to start the thing, well thats ok for now but......must fix. Maybe I'll just put toggle switches in instead of the key.

Some SOB tried to steal my car once. Luckily their drill bit broke off in the ignition lock they were trying to drill out. I ended up just replacing the ignition lock with one from an auto parts store.

If you want an ignition switch assembly with two keys, I have one for sale out of a '96 I am parting. It will fit all Series I Discovery's and 1995 Range Rover Classics. I'll PM you the details.

Get the switch assembly from Paul. A lot of people have similar issues with these keys and lock assemblies. You need to use finesse and not force. A little graphite powder or a good spray lub helps as well.

Mine is touchy, but I know exactly how to finesse it. You have to develop a feel for it. If you ram it in and try to force it, you will break the key.

Exactly, you have to develop the "touch" to unlock or start the Landys.
