Default Mud Flaps Or No Mud Flaps?

As a few of you know one of my mud flaps was about to come off so I pulled both the rears off and ordered two HUGE flaps from amazon for 11$ shipped. I cut out the rear ones already. And honestly you could probably fit all 4 of them in ONE of these flaps.. Anyways.. But I haven't got around to installing them with my trip to colorado and all.

Its starting to grow on me. Flap-less looks way more aggressive, but the flaps look more "land rover"

I dont care about the laws.

What do yall think? Flaps or not?

Default 6 to 1...

they are semi-courteous to others in rain...keep mud from flying up into your chassis (sort of) and the look, well that is perspective.

Off road they are a nuisance and easily ripped off if you have to reverse in mud... they get caught between the tire and the ground. That is over come by mounting them farther aft from the stock mounting point.

I will say that for those that want them, they have one's with the mountains on them at o-reilleys. You have to shorten them up as they are made to fit in the wheel well, but they still keep the slinging down and are shorter so you don't run over them..

I am also currently flap-less but I am making new ones out of a dump truck mud flap and will install them in the spring.
I like the looks of the mud flaps.
It is also my opinion that if they are not as ridged as the OEM flaps that they will last longer but I have no real data to back this up.

Ive never ripped my my dumptruck mud flaps off yet (lucky maybe) but I ripped the factory ones off countless times in the mud. I only have ones in the back on mine but thats because state law says I gotta have them other than that I really dont care for the looks myself.

If you don't off road at all or just light stuff occasionally then by all means get some. Keeps mud,etc off your truck and helps the people following you on the highway. If you off road a fair amount or a lot like I do then they are just going to be torn off in short order so forget them.

Three out of four of mine ripped off the on my first wheeling trip. I liked the look, but I'm not going to put more on so they can rip off every weekend.
