Oil Pan Gasket Recommendation Needed

I'm back, WHEW! Your gonna have to get gloves that go to the shoulder........ the hardest part will be trying to seal the back of the pan, very thin motor casting at the back of the skirt, hardly anything to seal to. The DII went with a cast aluminum oil pan, which is a little better since it doesn't deform like the D1's steal pan at the bolts. The other thing about the D1's is the lip does deform, usually from over tightening the mounting bolts so try straightening the lip as much as you can. I use a straight edge, a steel ruler but anything that's straight will do. Channel locks work to bend the lip and a hammer and dolly to straighten/flatten where the bolts mount through. Another thing is the bolts I believe use a lock washer but they don't really do the trick. I use Locktite red to make sure the bolts don't loosen. You'll have to clean them for that to work, carb cleaner or the MEK works.

The last time I did an oil pan gasket on a GEMS V8 I just used a can of "Right Stuff" Gasket maker. I Cleaned both surfaces really well, and applied a nice even coat on the engine and the oil pan. I then put it together and let it sit for maybe 10min before tightening it down to spec. Filled her up with oil and it never leaked another drop from the oil pan gasket. While I had it out I cleaned out the oil pickup filter and I was good to go.

Hey there. I chickened out and decided to order the gasket.
I ordered it from that Lucky8 place and waited almost a week with no updates from them. I called and they said they had to order it from the UK!! So they refunded me and told me it would be better to just use the gasket maker but I chickened out and want to just get an actual gasket.
I am looking for another place to order the oil pan gasket from. I have the Oil Pickup Gasket already so I may just order the oil pan gasket from Amazon as well..

Sux about the delay at L8. If you can't find a gasket (OS32344) locally, give Trevor @ RovahFarm a call or email. He is only a few states west of you, and normally has this part in stock. Part #602087 (at the bottom of the page) > RovahFarm for all your new Land Rover Parts and Accessories
