Wink

Finally got around to replacing my VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and boy was that a PITA!

Well, off for a test drive and hopefully the bucking and speedo issues will now be gone :-)

Time for a BEER! Happy Friday everyone!

Yup, my rear hatch door stopped working all of a sudden, just like that. Lock seems to be working, in that it pops up and down. But pulling on the handle on the inside, and squeezing the handle on the outside, doesn't do anything to open the door. I tried the trick of inserting the key, turning it counterclockwise while squeezing the handle, got nothing...

WTF, over...

I just swapped my VSS too and totally agree. PT Schram told me a trick though. Take a 5mm Allen Key and cut the short end off. Then chuck up the long part of the Allen Key into a 5mm socket. It gets right in there past that big nut.
Definitely beer thirty.

My speedo isn't working :-( Ideas? VSS not aligned properly?

Installed my new Toyota Corolla condenser fan. Works great. Rechecked my ac pressures and topped it off. Blowing much colder now.

Two new front ABS sensors installed. Rear brake pads replaced and very long list of things still left to do.

Removed tired old faded Land Rover hood decal and replaced with one I had a sign shop make. Slightly different in a good way.

Took out the drivers side jumper seat and used the seat belt to secure small tool kit. Going to take the other side too and maybe build a storage box in that spot or a sub box. Another day that was a PITA. Ended up cutting two of the bolts out.

Started to take the back seat out. Broke off the first 2 bolts and stopped. Maybe it should stay!

You should be able to get to and liquid wrench them from under the truck.

I tried to remove the oil fill cap and the filler neck came out as well.
The cap seems to be seized onto the filler neck.
After looking at the underside, I understand why.

Nasty yellowish goop stuck all over it with rust on the inside of the cap.
Looks like headgaskets are most likely shot.
Oil looked fine on dipstick, no water present and coolant overflow looks fine, no oil present.
