Fish, I bought the back seat covers ($30+ship) from a parted out D1 to use as patch material. Generally speaking, the back seats on these trucks are just fine but the fronts are a mess.

I also bought the severely over-price seat foam replacements.

I am surely overpaying because that is the way it is in NYC (damn landlords!). When done I'll be into the job for a fair percent of what the truck is worth, but it is a one-owner (me), no rust, incredibly well maintained truck (by me) and has been amazingly reliable. And the seats were the most run-down part.

All that said, there is no way in hell to justify the expense other than to say it is the cost of being married.

I will post pics when done.

Drats, I was hoping for a cheap fix.
I live in the greater Chicago area and end up paying through the nose for stuff too.
I may end up just getting some racing seats or used sports car seats if the cost starts getting up there.

Fitted up my wireless control for my old Warn M8000 winch then spooled on 26m of 10mm dyneema, then went for a night drive with 11 other vehicles.
Started at 7.30pm and finished at 3.30am, beautiful clear summer night although still only 8c in the forest.

Happy New Year folks. May 2017 be filled with oil stains and the "Tres Amigos." After all, if your LR was running perfectly, there would be no need for this forum.

Cheers

Washed, Clay Bar, Polished and Waxed for the new year. Took the rack off for winter so I can keep it in the garage.

- new front ABS sensors installed. Found them on ebay. Fingers crossed. So far so good.

- New front turn signals. The originals were getting tired looking so I replaced with some cheap units sourced on ebay. Britpart brand (notoriously shoddy). Not the best quality but not a critical item either so I'm satisfied. Shiny is better than foggy.

Today I installed Terra firma HD steering. Tightened up some slop considerably! Now I got greasable TREs too. Which I always hated that the stock ones were not.

Then... Test driving the rover in my hood after the install, I got a speeding ticket! Woot!

Default Today...

Removed center console and discovered (pun intended) why these tend to spontaneously catch fire. Previous owner had lost small pieces of paper right behind the seat heater and window panel.

Major cleaning, replaced both boots and replaced the shifter "ribbon".

There is a deterioration of the 2 panels where the PRD321 is that lets light through. I am blocking out the letters, outlining the ovals and re-blacking those 2 panels. Anyone else done that yet?

lastly removed and tried penetrating oil on fan clutch center hoping to free it up and get quieter. and replaced a door seal.
