Default Hood Latch

Has anyone used a cotter pin hood latch. Came across a pair cleaning out my parents shed. My latch is jacked up just curious if anyone has any pros or cons on the use of that kind of latch. Anyone with any pictures if so? Thanks

I think they are ugly and they defeat the anti theft aspect of the inside hood release.
Your battery might come up missing for example.

My hood latch is jacked up, and I've been thinking about installing hood pins instead. Locking pins will negate any theft concerns.

Hood pins FTW. If someone opens my hood they'll be greeted with the alarm.

Thanks fishEH, can you take a picture for me of where you mounted them inside?
