From cleaning the transfer case a month ago, I can now see where the leak is actually coming from. The front output seal is leaking. From looking at job, it looks straight forward.
Has anyone done it yet? Trying to find out what technique was used to remove the seal. The seal puller I have might be too big. I think I need a hook style one....?

Same question here. I just developed a leak from the front output seal that is leaking onto the Y-pipe from the exhaust... Hmmm... It is a fairly straight forward weekend warrior job? Remove front shaft (send ut for new u-joints while out...) undo flange, pull seal and place or is there more to it like "look for this type of wear or markings and if so...." or other nuances that would be moverlooked? Thanks as funds are tight and I'm deciding between "yes I can do this" or get it over to local Indy shop. Also, if it is relatively straight-forward, what should this cost to do at an Indy shop?
Thanks in advance, Tom
