Default Update: new upstream O2 sensors and still P1313 & P1314

I installed new NTK 25044 O2 sensors upstream which are doing their wide variation in voltage as expected, but the downstream sensors which had both been running 0.015 before I "cleaned" them were running above 1.0 on the left and 0.015 to 0.025 on the right, so I swapped the left downstream one which was reading high with the old upstream sensor that had showed the most variation.

Now on short drives of 3 to 5 miles both downstrean O2 sensors seem stuck on 1.020 volts and I am getting P1314 and P1313 climbing hills at low speed and also pending code P1317. Could changing one downstream sensor affect the other one which was not touched? Somehere I read that the heaters are in wired parallel, but I am not getting any codes about heaters shorted or open.

I am also curious why P1317 (ABS - rough road signal line permanently at ground or open circuit) is showing up when it wasn't there before. I also read that P1317 causes the ECM to disable misfire detection, but there is still that flashing CEL and codes P1313/P1314 set.

Guess I need to bite the bullet and spend another $100 for new downstream O2 sensors (they've gone up $2 at Amazon since I bought the other two) and eliminate that possible cause before tacklng the CPS.

Should receive the new CPS soon. Will update. Also looking into the P1317..

Ordered new downstream O2 sensors today. Will report if they make any difference when installed. Awaiting your CPS findings too.

I installed The new downstream O2 sensors today and went for a short test drive.

The engine started easily and ran and idled smoothly and both downstream O2 sensors varied rapidly in a wide range from .995 to .015. No codes were set just driving to the front drive, so I took a drive down to the boathouse and driving back up the steep hill from the boathouse the CEL flashed and it set P1314 with P1317 pending; when the CEL flashed it was in open loop and stayed in open loop back to the house and remained open loop at idle at the house for a time before going closed loop again. All O2 sensors were doing the dance and varying up and down, but only after it returned to closed loop.



So ... all new O2 sensors and still getting the flashing CEL and P1314 without hearing or feeling any actual misfires. BTW, all the old O2 sensors had SAGEM stamped on the bodies so I assume they may have been the originals with 171,600 miles on them. I'm still awaiting Eric's CPS report to see if that's my next project too.



And ... I am also wondering about the wife's 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan at 240,000 miles (100,000 of which we've put on it) with no O2 sensors changed, no misfire or O2 codes, and still getting 24 MPG from its 3.3L V6. Are all these d__n codes a British/French thing? (SAGEM is the French maker of the GEMS system) Why can't LR be at least as good as Chrysler which has changed hands almost as much as Rover and still makes relatively trouble free cars? Yeah, I know, the're not as cool as a Discovery, but not as frustrating either.

Default 1999 Land Rover Discovery with misfire

I have a 99 that has a some codes. P1375 P1316 P1374 P1314. I changed the plugs and the wire are pretty new.
