2000 dii trek information ?
Hello gents,
I was fortunate to have just found an original 2000 DII TREK vehicle for a price I could not pass up. The gentleman I purchased from ( a Brit, who owned it since 2003) purchased it from one of the LR competitors in the event. It has all the usual decals invluding a US flag on the driver's roofline ( old for sure).
This TREK is # 2 ( it is also marked #2 on the vehicle, on the keys and in a couple other spots). He had told him that this was an event vehicle, not a trainer or a demo.
Does anyone know where one could locate more info ? I surfed the net but was unable to get anything more than generic info.
Aside from a leaky HG on the left bank and some cosmetic issues, it is very solid, and 100% rust free. Still has the full off-road pack including the SD rack, skid plate and sliders, along with a recent rebuilt trans, axles, hubs, radiator and water pump.
Planning to clean it up and keep it next to my 02' SE.

Search on Google came up with a few links....
Difference between trim levels? Anyone? Throw me a bone here? Thanks! - Land Rover Forums : Land Rover and Range Rover Forum
1999 Discovery TReK
(this is all the info I could find on this model)
The special-edition Series II for Land Rover TReK is designed for hardened off-roaders who take their vehicles to extreme conditions. Research indicates that over 38 percent of Land Rover owners use their vehicles off-road, far higher than the industry average.
The special-edition Series II features a number of upgrades designed to support the already excellent off-road capability of Land Rover's Discovery. The vehicle rides on BF Goodrich's Mud Terrain 285/75R-16 tires. Up front there is a custom-made steel bumper with an integrated Warn XD9000 winch. The custom rear bumper features an integrated class-three trailer hitch. There is extensive undercarriage armor, including rock sliders with integrated air tanks for tire pressure adjustment. For late night action, the vehicle employs nine Hella lamps, including three high intensity discharge driving lights. There is a full length roof rack and, mounted on the rear, a 48-inch high-lift jack. Under the hood, the conventional battery has been replaced with dry cell technology, which can better withstand the punishment of extreme off-road driving. Inside, the door panels and seats are covered with two-ply supplex waterproof fabric. All carpets have been removed in favor of more durable and easier to clean rubber matting.
Support for this project was provided by BF Goodrich, Hella, Old Man Emu, Safari Gard, Safety Devices, Southdown and Warn.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ --
Most vehicles shown during auto shows
are freshly painted, have no miles on the odometer and are free from the dents
and dings of real-world use. Not so the Land Rover Discovery Series II TReK
competition vehicle that makes its public debut at the 2001 Greater Los
Angeles Auto Show. The Molten Orange-color Discovery Series II TReK makes its
first-ever auto show appearance just six weeks after being put to the test in
Land Rover TReK 2000, a rough and rugged four-wheel drive competition held in
last November at the Greenbrier, a luxury resort located in W.Va. The
Greenbrier is also home to one of only two Land Rover driving schools based in
North America. Land Rover TReK is an annual competition that pits Land Rover
retail personnel in a series of daylong off-road driving decathlons. The TReK
competition puts Land Rover retail personnel and Land Rover vehicles to the
test.

The Discovery Series II TReK, which will be on display for the duration of
the 2001 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, features the scars of Land Rover TReK
2000 and is one of only 15 such vehicles built for use used during the TReK
event. Every Discovery Series II TReK, including the one shown in Los
Angeles, was produced in Solihull, England by Land Rover Special Vehicles.
All feature stock powertrains and suspension components that are similar to
those built into every Land Rover Discovery Series II. Many components,
including their strong, 4.0-liter V8 engines, permanent four-wheel drive
systems, four-wheel electronic traction control and long-travel suspensions
equipped with Land Rover's Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE) and Self-
Leveling Rear Suspension (SLS) systems, were essentially unmodified for
competition.
The Discovery Series II TReK models are not completely stock, however.
They were built with several additional components for the TReK 2000 event.
The specification list includes special interior trim; a wraparound front
brush bar; a distinct front bumper and grille; a front-mounted winch; four (4)
Hella driving lamps and two (2) rear-mounted work lights. Also present are a
rear-mounted ladder; and a full-length steel roof rack with a steel mesh
platform; Rock Sliders for sill protection; a Hi Lift Jack mounted on the rear
spare tire; upgraded front coil springs; rear lamp guards; rubber floor mats;
and a cargo mat. The Discovery Series II TReK wears a striking Molten Orange
and Black paint scheme and is shod with 245/75R-16 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain
tires.
Land Rover North America will use the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show to
begin gauging public interest in a limited-production version of the Discovery
Series II TReK. While details and pricing of such a model have not yet been
finalized, Land Rover has determined that a consumer-directed Discovery Series
II TReK would feature many of the items and options that were featured on the
competition vehicle. The target on-sale date for the Land Rover Discovery
Series II TReK is summer 2001.

Hell, I guess I was looking in the wrong way....Some stuff I got like specs and such. Interesting article on their display at the LA show.
Aside from the 4-part YouTube clips, I did not really see anything else ( other than the occasional Trek being advertised for sale).
Do you know of any info on specific vehicles ? I have #2. I have seen $7, 9 and 15 go for sale before and sold.
