Default 255/70/r16 practical or just nice

hi all. Something interesting on the forums, everybody speaks about fitting or not bigger tires with or with out trimming or lifting.
i have now 255/60 and want to go 255/70 but this means not only increase in diameter also a heavyer tire. Does this effect in time the stiring, articulation etc. If you do such a change, what else do you must change also?

I'm running 255/17r16s right now at stock height with no problems what so ever. My speedo is actually closer to being right than it was on stock size and there is not a noticable difference in power or gas mileage. I didn't trim anything and they work perfectly.

I am going to be lifting and throwing on some 265/75s soonish though.

I'll throw up a couple pictures within the next few hours.

bigger tire more weight it will increase your unsprung weight and cause additional wear and tear.
if you increasing your tire height from 28 -30 on stock spring you will greatly decrease your articulation

well you have 100k on your spring and shocks, so unless you replaced them you will want too.
And you will probably want a 2-inch over kit to gain back the articulation that was lost with the large tires,
might not matter on the street but off road you will have clearance problems.
But i sure someone else will get into your choices of different kit you have

I didn't change anything along with the tires. Suspension and body wise, other than my brush guard and trimmed bumper, I'm bone stock. The bumper didn't need to be trimmed for the tires either, I ran it with the tires and untrimmed bumper for months before deciding I wanted more clearance in the front.

Here is what mine looks like right now. I didn't feel like re-upload in the pictures, but there is a picture of her sitting level and a picture at full flex.

Thanks, man! I can get you one pretty soon. I off road a little bit, but not anything heavy since I'm still running those all seasons. I'll be getting into heavier stuff once I get Muds.

However, suspension seems to act exactly the same as with stock size from what I can tell. There is practically no difference other than being 1/2" taller and looking a little beefier.
