Default Answer: Biggest tire 18in rims

A lot of people have had questions about this. I have a 2003 discovery with 18s and wanted to go with bigger than 255 55 that came with it. I don't have a lift and don't have the ACE. I was able to fit 265 65s on my truck with no issues. I went with the Toyo open country a/t, they are a 50,000 mile tire and are somewhat agressive. I can turn lock to lock and they do not rub at all. Make the land rover actually look like a off-road vehicle. Will post pics once it quits raining. Hope this helps some of y'all out

good info. i definitely want to see some pics. if i can just throw some more aggressive tires on my 18's it'll save me buying new wheels.

I put 275/70/18 ATs on my Disco with stock suspension (ACE, if that matters??). I had to pull the bottom of the front bumper forward a bit, and insert a wedge type object between the top of the bumper and the fender to hold it that way. Then used a dremel and cut a bit of the plastic trim on other various places. It drove fine like that for a while, just had a couple problems bottoming out. Installed 2" lift coils and now it drives great. Only problem is it can still rub on turn-lock, but I don't mind. I also need to install longer shocks now, as for the stock ones, whenever they reach max extension when driving it makes a racket and jolts the cabin.

Trying to post pics but keeps saying they are too big to download on this site. Anyone know how to resize images or change them for bmp to jpeg or zip...

you could also use photobucket of flikr. you should have an editor on your computer that can resize them.
