Noticed an anti-freeze smell and when I popped the hood I saw antifreeze bubbling from the center of the bleed screw, how it came to have a hole in the center I have no idea. What are my options on this? does anyone know the thread size and if I could find a brass plug or something to thread in there?
thanks

There's a brass replacement you can purchase at the BMW dealership and the parts guy usually knows what you're talking about or you can scoop it up on eBay if you don't need the vehicle for a few days.

Somebody over tightened your bleeder screw. It is a common issue. Stick with the plastic screw, it is much easier and less expensive to change the screw, rather than changing out the combo hose with the t-fitting. If you overtighten the brass screw, it will break or strip out the t-fitting and then things get expensive. The plastic screws are about $4 each, buy two or three and keep the extras in the coin drawer in the dash to the side of the ac controls. Make sure that you bleed the system when you get the new screw. Good luck. Phil

Thanks for the replys. I have had the screw out a few times while bleeding system from water pump change. The weird thing it's bubbling from the very center of the screw.
Is the plastic bleed screw replacement a dealer only part?

You have to buy the entire T assembly in order to get the screw from why I gather when i had the same issue.
