Default Both sunroofs will no move but motor runs

2000 D2, just bought it 2 weeks ago and the previous owner taped both front and rear sunroofs so common sense told me they leak. Today I removed and re-glued the drain caps, long story short I removed the tape and tried to open and close both sunroofs and they won't move. However I can hear the motor trying to work sounds like it's just spinning or stripping maybe. The 3 bolts that bolt it to the try are tight. So do I have to adjust the sunroof tracks or anything? Thanks in advance

First guess would be that the nylon gear on the motor is stripped, or some other connection mechanism is damaged between the motors and the winders. You're going to have to pull down part of the headliner to get a better look to diagnose.
