Default Brake Bleeding ?

I have seen the recommendations for manual 2 person bleeding, like is done on many other vehicles, to be utilized for a 2000 Discovery II. I have also read that in order to properly get this done you have to take it to a dealer with some super computer equipment to purge the system. What gives? Is the computerized bleeding only needed on newer models of LRs?

Thanks

Default RE: Brake Bleeding ?

No, you don't need to unless you actually trapped a lot of air in the ABS unit. 2 person bleed works great, pump the brake pedal 3 times and hold it down while someone opens then closes the bleed screw. Continue to bleed the brakes, starting with the r/r then l/r, r/f and finsish with the L/f. Bleed each wheel till the brake fluid comes out clear, usually takes at least 1 quart of brake fluid, sometimes more.
Might try using Vavolines systhetic fluid which lasts longer.
