Default code reader question

Is there an inexpensive code reader that can reset the light.or does that have to be done at a dealer.Vehicle is DII,would this work on other vehicles also.
I did a search and could not find an answer.

Also, you can get a great scanner at toolsource.com; equus 3110 ($127)

just looked at price again, now it is $148. Still a good deal for that scanner.

Reminds me of the overnight price hike on magnecor wires at apexperformance.com a couple of weeks ago.

Haerbor freight tools has one for $39. It is small, will reset the codes and you can keep it in the glove box...
