Drive vehicle to local auto parts store (Autozone, O'Reillys, etc) most will have a scan tool you can borrow in the parking lot, or they will scan it for you. Do not listen to the description of what the scan tool thinks the problem is, or listen to the parts guy telling you what he thinks the problem is.
Write down the code numbers (usually Pxxxx), and post them on this forum.
