coil pack replacement, help with gaskets
A little background, my truck misfires intermittently every 200 miles or so, sooner if im heavy on the gas. Im not getting spark to cylinder number 5 so im looking to replace the drivers side coil pack. My question is when i remove my intake should i replace the gasket under or is it reusable? Thanks in advance

Try getting your hand back there once. I am replacing mine this weekend on my 04. You can't reach the wires to even begin to replace them on the coil without removing the plenum.

123000 miles on the clock mike, replaced wires 1000 miles ago with sti 8mm wires and platinum +4 plugs. Tested plug 5 by grounding on manifold and got no spark. Ive already done a seafoam induction cleaning as well as changing front o2 sensors. Do you have any other thoughts on what it could be? Im almost certain its the coil pack. I have a slight rough idle and a loss of power

I have a local land rover shop thats asking 100 per coil, i haven't seen them yet but he said theyre "german made " kinda fishy that he wont tell me the brand. Besides that i was thinking of buying two used bosch packs from ebay that i found, they come with a 6 month warranty. Which do you think i should go with?

On the plus side, the disco is way easier to change plugs on than my other car(73 bug). I need to take both carbs and manifolds off to get at the forward two plugs, and then there is the matter of synchronizing a pair of 15 year old Italian carbs when it all goes back together. I am seriously considering cutting access panels into the body.

The 99 is a whole different beast compared to the 03 or 04 with SAI. Besides all the pipes and hoses that cover the area you need to get to, there is probably less than an inch access space to squeez your hand through. That bug sounds like a PIA!
