Just did the HG's on my '03 and had the same stuff left over, the consensus was that it's for the older engines such as the D1 since they all use the same HG kit apparently.

weird that they'd include all that and not the coolant elbow tapered o ring, got that on order to arrive today and the two oil pan gromments. Hopefully this thing will be back up and running for the snow coming this Saturday

you seem to be making pretty good progress on it though. screw the snow.
Funny, like you say they give you extra and leave out things like the upper manifold gasket.

to late, but that was not a bottoming tap you used to chase the threads.

keep plugging away

If that truck is from NJ. I remember breaking your fuel line when I put a new motor in your truck after it blew up at 6,900 miles on my way to burger king.

Interesting, I actually bought it from a couple out of Woodbridge, CT which isnt far from NJ. I'll post the numbers on the block face if you could let me know if it matches up to the engine you installed, would be great to know the history on this rig.

Plus, its an 03 that falls in the VIN range with block issues, so a piece of mind knowing that was replaced

Call land rover Monmouth an see if they have a history for it. They just need a Vin.
