I've got a 2000 Disco II with air suspension (replaced last year). When the temperature drops below about 40-45 degrees F, like in the morning, I get a pretty pronounced squeak/creak sound out of the rear suspension (possibly front too on occasion) when I drop off the curb or go over a speed bump. I'm pretty darned handy and have done a good amount of my own work on my Rover so I'm game to tackle this but I'm really not sure how to run it down to pinpoint what it might be. I'm hoping that one of you might recognize this as a "typical" Disco problem and lead me to it.

Im watching this thread, mine does the same thing since cold weather but, it seems to go away after driving for a while.

I had the same thing. I thought I had a bad wheel bearing or somthing last winter. I sprayed a bunch of Seafoam Deep Creep up around the front springs. That quieted it down. I may do the same for the rear air spings. I think road spray debris gets packed under the top seat/perch in on the rear springs and makes noises. It seems more pronounced when the temp goes below 20.

while the deep creep my have worked on your coil spring you dont want to be spraying it on your air bags.
Oil will wrought and distroy rubber, that is why you grease rubber bushing and do not oil them.
If you have ever grabbed a radiator or power steering hose that has had oil leaking on it you know what i mean. you get that black slime all over you hands, thats wroughted rubber.

Same here aon the few ultra cold mornings AZ has, but quickly dissipates as the morning drive goes on.

So, in reading the RAVE manual, it seems that there is basically the Dampers and their bushing, a few other bushings in the rear, and then the coils/air-bags. If this is happening to folks in front and rear, then I'm inclined to believe the common thread is dampers, but I'm **FAR** from an expert.
I'd love to know what to check and/or replace and/or GREASE. I'll be giving it a good visual inspect this weekend if the weather permits but I don't have much belief that visual is going to help. Any pros wanna weigh in on our creakin-chilly-rovers?

It's a sound like Plastic rubbing on rough metal connected to chassis. A real groaning noise when the thing is cold. But as you all describe it goes quiet after a while.
I have had the same squeak/groan noise in the winter months for the past three years. It sounds like it is coming from the rear suspension (no SLS on mine), and really only happens when it is below freezing. I have not investigated it, because being out in the sub freezing temperatures causes me to make groaning noises also...
