Default cruise control

Hi all,

I got my 2003 DII back from the mechanic a couple of weeks ago. It was there for an exploratory mission to see why I was throwing a code and amber lights on for the ACE system. Long story short, when I got it back the cruise control doesn't work. I checked fuse #30 and it's fine. Any ideas on where else I can check? Is this something that could have just been deactivated when they hooked up their scan computer?

Does the horn work? I forget the fuse # but when my horn fuse blows the cruise goes with it.
That may be fuse #30 , the one you checked already, I can't recall.

Pull the cruise pump off and check the rubber hoses for cracks. If they look good then you may need a new pump. My cruise pump went bad and I bought a used one off ebay for $25. Cruise has worked ever since.

This might help you. Where the red arrow is pointing is where you put the hose from the cruise actuator

I created a thread with some information I found that helped when my cruise wasn't working.

Well, I thought everyone could have a little chuckle at my expense. Since I got my disco back from the mechanic, the CC didn't work and I thought for a brief moment that I don't recall there was any button to turn it on and off so.... I started on a long goose chase to troubleshoot this issue. I ended up getting a ebay used CC pump, installed it and it didn't work either.

As I was doing my test drive, I peered to the right of the steering wheel and noticed the row of buttons on the instrument cluster shroud. There was the CC button and with one press..... viola! I now have cruise control. Because of how I sit behind the wheel, I can't usually see that row of buttons so I kinda forgot they were there. At least it wasn't an expensive lesson.
