Default D2 Front Propshaft

I was driving tonight and heard a sound coming from under my Disco. I got home, checked all the bushings and they seemed OK. Then I looked at my front drive shaft and it looked ready to fall apart. The UJs were a lot hotter than the rear drive shaft's (those were actually cool). I never changed the front drive shaft so this is the problematic original.
Any recommendations for a new drive shaft? How hard is it to rebuild myself? My truck is stock and I'm looking for something affordable.
Thanks.

Never seen that one before, but it might be OK. Most guys looking to go cheap get this one from Lucky 8.

It works for the '04 right? Just wondering because some sites say that the 03-04 has a different drive shaft than the 99-02.
If it is, then I'll buy it right away.

Yea, should work no problem. The D2 driveshafts lengthen and shorten just a little bit (slip joint in the middle). If you want to double check, just call Lucky 8 in the morning. Tell Erik or Justin (whichever you talk to) that you're from the forum and they'll probably give you a forum discount too.

Just to be clear, you've stopped driving it, right?

Because you need to stop driving it, lest the prop shaft fail and knock a 3" hole in the side of your transmission.

It's not my daily driver so I'm not driving it until I change the drive shaft. Hopefully I can get the driveshaft by this weekend because I love driving my disco.

Just ordered one from Lucky 8. Does anyone know how long it will take for it to reach me? I'm in San Francisco.
