What did you end up doing to get the new windshield? Did you install it yourself or have the pros do it? And did you get the heated version or the unheated?

Well it is finally licensed and insured....it passed the inspection.

But now I have a new problem...its throwing codes.
O2 circut errors and misfires , but only sometimes...and it runs rough now.

On a different note......I bought another disco today.

Lol!

Congratulations on getting it on the road. I know it was a long, hard slog. I went back and read the entire thread. Wow. You are determined, persistent and resourceful.

As for the codes, two steps forward and one step back.

Are the codes all on one side, all even or all odd? Or are they on both sides? I'm guessing (hoping?) the ignition wires you installed were new. And the spark plugs.

If all on one side it's likely an O2 sensor. Or two. A prominent participant on this forum who was a Land Rover service manager and is no longer around here swore up and down that a bad O2 could not cause misfires, but one did so on my truck 2+ years ago.

Hahaha thank you... though it feels more like one baby step forward and two giant steps back at times.

As funds were and are very tight I reused everything I could..including plugs and wires. Later today I think I will pull the plugs and see what they look like.

I wonder if bad or old fuel could cause this? Excess water maybe? Though I did add Lucas treatment to the fuel system and topped up with 93 octane...so water should not be an issue.

Hard to believe the journy this thing has been on lol.
Was sold to a scrap auction because they original owner did not want to invest in fixing the motor. Was bought and parted out for the bumper, abs pump, and washer bottle then sold to a scrap yard where I found it.
It was literally days before it was to be crushed and gone for good.

Your truck is a twin of mine. Mine's a '99 Rioja Red 7-seater. We've had it since May 2002 when it had 22,000 miles on it. Here is my fingers-crossed question - did you get the keyless entry system clicker key or just a plain key?

Incredible!

The mass market key you need is the ILCO RV4. It's widely available but if you can't find them locally they're easy to find on eBay. There is also a version with a plastic head - ILCO RV4-P.
