Unhappy window question

Afternoon all,

Got in the truck today and tried to put the passenger side front window down and nothing - I can hear a (solenoid clicking) sound in the door. I don't want to yank stuff apart if its something simple - like say a fuse. = Have clicking sound in door when switch is actuated, window does not go down (I guess I should be thankful its up all the way!!!)

Any ideas????

Sounds like your window motor may have stripped out some gears or the window itself has bound up. It is not difficult to remove the door panel and take a look. Just get a panel removal tool from your local parts store. There are 2 bolts in each end of the door handle and a screw in the handle release cover that need to be removed. Then you can use the panel removal tool to pop the panel off. Then carefully peel the plastic moisture barrier away from the door and see what is going on inside. Let us know what you find.

If the window is bound can I apply pressure to it while the wife works the switch? Is that a good try???

Will remove the panel to see whats up - probably wont happen till this weekend tho

I would remove the panel and check and see first. If the window is up your okay. I was in my passenger door last week and removing the panel is an easy task.

yeah taking the panel on and off is a 10 minute job...
