DiscoMike!!! Sea Foam vs. LUCAS tune up in a bottle
DiscoMike,
What is your opinion as to which is better. SeaFoam or Lucas "Tune-Up in a bottle" complete fuel treatment?
The Lucas if you can believe is around $3 per bottle where the Foam is about $5.50 per bottle. (S. Texas)
I know this my spark discussion so please try to bring fact based knowledge rather than opinions.

RE: DiscoMike!!! Sea Foam vs. LUCAS tune up in a bottle
I guess what we are trying to find out here is which product is better for putting into the gas tank. Yes, the seafoam is used also as an induction cleaner, but when used soleythrough thetank, is it better than the Lucas "tune-up in a bottle"? Any ideas?
As a side note on this discussion, I have heard that the fuel filter should be replaced before doing such a treatment (whether it be with lucas, seafoam, or any other product). Is this true? I'm looking to put some in my tank soon so I would like to know. Thanks alot.

The fuel filter has nothing to do with how well injector cleaner works.
But yes you should change your fuel filter every 30k or so. Unless you have a DII, then you DO NOT have a fuel filter.
So, with your '03...dump it in the tank and go. I use a bottle of injector cleaner every oil change and I buy whatever is on sale. If you use good gas then it isint such a big deal. You get what you pay for, cheap gas=dirty injectors, good gas=clean injectors.

DITTO, B&G's 44K is by far the best, gas additive out there, some people don't like paying the $20 plu for it, but you get what you pay for. Next best id Techtron from Stand oil then Seafoam. These will clean out the system quickly. Lucas, which I really like is used onec in awhile to maintane what you have cleaned out.

You can get Lucas in the large bottle for about $9.99, which is good for about five tanks of gas. Notknocking the merits of other products butmytruck runsgreat using the Lucas. I'd really like to try the B&G 44K but I haven't found it in this area. I've tried NAPA, AUTO-ZONE , O'Reilly's etc. with no luck.
