I'll throw my 2 cents in... At first I thought you found a quarter along with the two other pieces you have there To me they almost look like the metal rings found in the valve cover gasket bolt holes but they look to skinny for that, maybe this had to do with your ticking noise?
I would go ahead and do the pump since the pan indeed has to come off for that along with a few other things like the water pump, crank pulley etc.

Pump can't be done with pan on. Of course while you have this off you will replace O-ring (#30 in drawing) for oil pickup tube and refit bolts holding it. Some use loctite also. And clean the screen.
See attached page from RAVE. Look at part 37. If these match the one you have holding pickup to block, may have had spares left in by factory.
What you found on parts geek was the entire front engine cover, that is where the oil pump is housed and is considered one unit.
But there are rebuild kits, just like the link I posted for you.

Agreed that looks like a spacer indeed. How the heck would those be in there from the factory though? Do you think they could possibly clog/restrict flow somehow to help starve the engine of oil at times and cause the tick? I can't figure out what they space, but does he have them in the picture you see?

DIY repairs: Valve cover gasket(1/02/12),Plenum gasket(1/02/12), Crank Sensor(1/20/12),Rotors and Pads(1/21/12), Oil Sump Gasket(1/22/12),
Oil Pump, Timing Chain kit, Head Gaskets, New Water Pump, Thermostat, New hoses, New 8mm Wires, Bosch +4 plugs, New Fluids all the way around, mikes 60k mile service complete, Exhaust gaskets (2/1/12 - 2/29/12).
Wherever the extra spacers came from, rolling around in 40 weight oil would dampen their noise, would not be noticed. Won't float, won't suck into the strainer. Would actually help keep sludge kicked loose and in suspension. May have been a secret quality control test, to see if it was detected further down the line (results = failed). May have been a bad day for Rupert Wimpshank, who was just chewed out by foreman and decided to show his love for the asembly line by adding a few parts...
