Anybody know where I can buy the winch mount like the one on the 2003 G4 Disco? The only site I found that sells them is in the UK and they want about $3000 and that includes the winch. I don't need the winch I just want the mount and I'm not shelling out that kind of cash for one. Just like the one in the pics.

 

Never seen one anywhere but eBay (seller in the UK), but at least you know they are out there.

Have you tried asking Rover? You may have to "borrow" someone's G4 VIN in order to order one through the dealer, and they'll charge you for it I'm sure.

Where'd you find that picture of it all laid out?

 

....you could probably take those pictures and your winch to a metal fab place and have them make one for you???

 

The second pic of it was off the UK website that wanted 1400 pounds for it. Did you see it on US Ebay or UK Ebay? I was figuring that I might have to have it custom made.

 

i think that is not very attractive at all... i much rather use a winch box that is set behind like the one that UP has. i think that is a lot better looking.

 

If I recall it was just on the regular US eBay, but to be shipped from the UK and payment was listed in pounds.

Add in heavy weight shipping to the states and that's big money. You'd get some money back re-selling the winch, but I think that'd be a big PITA.

I'd start off with Rover, then print off some good pictures, find a reputable shop and get one fabbed...I wouldn't show him the price of the real thing though, he may get greedy
